Welcome to Roberts' Rhinos

Welcome to Robert's Rhinos, where everybody is special. We love to explore and work together to learn exciting things. Our class teacher is Miss Roberts and we have a special helper called Mrs Maden. Come and explore our class page to find all sorts of useful information and to find out what we have been getting up to!

This term our theme is 'Fire Fire!', here is what we will be learning...

In our English lessons, we will be learning all about recounts and write our own recount. This half-term we will also be exploring and writing our own poems based on a theme.

In our daily Phonics lessons, we will continue our hard work from the last term, working on the letters and sounds scheme of work.

In our Maths lessons this term there will be a big focus on place value and addition and subtraction. To see a full list of the maths subjects we will be covering please see the curriculum map.

In our RE lessons, we follow the 'come and see' Catholic scheme of work and will be exploring our understanding of families and what it means to belong. As part of our work on other religions we will also be learning about the story of Moses. Towards the end of the term we will be preparing for Christmas and exploring the importance of advent.

In our Scince lessons this term we will be exploring and investigating materials. We will also begin to record the changes the new season brings.

In Computing this term we will be developing our word processing skills.

In our Geography lessons, we will be learning about the UK.

In our History lessons, we will be learning about the Great Fire of London.

In Art, we will be crearting self potraits based on the work by Pablo Picasso.

In our DT lessons we will be creating our own models based around the Great Fire of London.

In Music, our topic is Nursery rhymes and repetitive songs. We will also be learning about body percussion.

Our PE topic this term is Dance. Our PE day is Tuesday.

In our PSHE lessons, we will be learning about healthy lifestyles and keeping safe.

This term is going to be a very busy one, with lots of exciting things happening. I am very excited to be teaching the fantastic children in Roberts' Rhinos and being a part of their learning journeys. As usual, I will keep parents and carers updated with pictures and notices on seesaw.
